Since 2017, the Gregg-Graniteville Foundation has also funded the Jean Johnson Memorial Scholarship. Jean Johnson was a lifelong educator and beloved coach in the Graniteville and Midland Valley area. The $1,000.00 scholarship is awarded to a student that participates in athletics, displays good sportsmanship and citizenship, and plans to attend a 2 year technical college, or a 4 year university.
The scholarship is awarded by the Leavelle McCampbell School Alumni Association and application forms are available in the Midland Valley High School guidance office.
The 2021 recipient is Lauren King. Lauren is an honor graduate from Midland Velley High School. She is the daughter of Jim and Tracy King. She plans to attend USC-Aiken where she will major in Nursing.
